A W Sinclair & Sons Limited
In 1876 Andrew Worke Sinclair arrived in Scarborough from North Shields and within a short time was responsible for many housing projects in the Scarborough area.

Control of the business was passed to his two sons George and Andrew and in 1922, they expanded into general contracting until the 1940's, when Mr. James Sinclair became MD.

During the early 1960's the mechanical and electrical sections were set up to run alongside the decorating department. This made A W Sinclair into the 'Complete Construction Company'.

The Quibell Group acquired A W Sinclair & Sons Ltd in 1989 and since then, they have developed all sections of the company so that today, all divisions carry out their own specialist work within the company, the group and also as stand alone sub-contractors.

They ensure that all necessary training is given to the staff so as to maintain and improve the quality level and service.

They continue to recruit apprentices in all trade sections of the company, seven apprentices being trained at this time, allowing the traditional skills to be passed on.

They have carried out contract work and maintenance works with local authorities including Scarborough Borough Council and North Yorkshire County Council, and continue to expand their client base.
